Teeth Whitening

‘I am really thrilled with the Zoom treatment on my teeth.

I am 68 years of age and previously my teeth were very discoloured when I smiled I was aware of this.

Now I am not embarrassed as my teeth are several shades lighter and always look cleaner.’

Mrs M.P. Age 68.

‘I found the Zoom take home system extremely easy and comfortable to use. Very discreet and even had the trays in when doing the school run. Overall an excellent product.

‘Although I cleaned my teeth regularly and attended the hygienist as recommended, I was becoming more conscious of my teeth being discoloured. My teeth are rather noticeable when I smile and I was increasingly feeling more uncomfortable about my appearance when meeting and greeting anyone.

I sore the advice of Mrs Ram about the possibility of having my teeth lightened. She explained the procedure in detail and assured me it would not result in ‘an Americanised bling smile’.

The procedure consisted of an impression of my teeth and gums so that a custom fitted whitening tray could be made to hold the bleaching agent, which I used for 1 hour per day at home prior to more intensive treatment in the surgery. The tray was light and comfortable to use and did not impede my speech.

The more intensive treatment lasted approximately one and half hours in the surgery with Mrs Ram and a Dental Nurse. This for me was slightly uncomfortable but not painful. Aftercare included a few more days using the whitening tray and a gel to sooth away any soreness.

Throughout the treatment I felt confident with the professional care and expertise of Mrs Ram and her team.

I am so glad I did it. During a recent conversation some said ‘with your nice smile..’ Quite a boost for a 75 year old! This for me was evidence that it was money well spent.

Thank you!’

‘I have been bleaching my teeth for 7years. Originally I used a night bleaching agent with custom made trays. This was not a particularly please experience as the trays were bulky, wearing them all night made my mouth dry. For the past 4 years I have used a day whitening which is easy to use. The trays are very slim and I only need to wear them for 1 hour per day. This course lasts between 10-14days. I usually bleach just before the summer holidays!

After breakfast I brush my teeth and place my trays into my mouth, by the time I have dropped the kids off at school and seen a couple of patients – time is up!

I must admit my lower teeth (which suffer from a little bit of wear on the edges) became slightly sensitive after day 4 but not enough to cause any concern. I am very pleased with the results – I like my teeth to look light and bright. Often people notice something is different about me but don’t really know what it is, the usually say ‘you look really well’ Bright, light teeth in my opinion certainly brighten up your face.

I bleached my teeth for the first time in 2007 with Zoom in-surgery system. During the procedure there was no sensitivity but the teeth were sensitive for 24hours after.

I continued with the home kit for 10days I did use the desensitising gel in trays after bleaching. When treatment was complete the sensitivity stopped and I have not had any problems since then. I found the home kit very easy to use as you only need to wear it for 1hour per day.

I am very, very happy with the results and would definitely recommend the procedure. Friends and family have noticed that my teeth are lighter. My lipstick certainly looks better.’

‘As a professional who is regularly called upon to deliver presentations I was acutely self conscious about my teeth. Over time they have darkened despite good brushing routines and regular visits to the dentist. I raise this with my dentist who explained that Regency House offer a teeth whitening service. I opted for a home whitening kit and two years on I am still delighted with the results. People often compliment me on my teeth with the results that I am more confident and find myself smiling more readily. I would recommend it!’

‘I didn’t like my discoloured teeth and wondering if I was too old to have them bleached. Following a consultation with Mrs Ram, I opted to go ahead with the take home bleaching option.

My family were surprised at the decision even though my son had his teeth bleaching a few years earlier and had been recommending me to have it done for a long time.

I noticed a difference after 2/3 days and had no sensitivity throughout the 14days. People say I look well and I honestly wish I had taken my sons advice and had it done years ago.

I am very happy with the results.’

‘When I initially came to see Mrs Ram I was a smoker, I felt that I had very stained teeth and had a large unsightly front crown that I wanted to have replaced and my smile made brighter and lighter- I explained what I didn’t like about my smile to Mrs Ram who gave me 2 options explaining both in great detail. It was advised that any bleaching process will only work on natural enamel and not crown or bridge work.

I opted for the in-surgery bleaching option. I was advised I would be in the surgery chair for a hour or two. On the day I made myself comfortable by listening to music on my iPod. During the procedure bleaching gel was applied and removed 3times, my teeth felt tingly during treatment. During the following 12hours my teeth were painful so I took my usual pain relief which helped. A few weeks after the bleaching procedure I had a new front crown made which was shaded to my new lighter smile.

I felt it was definitely worth having done, it has boosted my confidence, other people have noticed and I love my smile.’

‘People always say I have a nice smile, however I felt my teeth were a little too dark, I discussed the possibility of bleaching with Mrs Ram who said that I could make my smile lighter and brighter by using a home bleaching kit. Mrs Ram went through the whole procedure and said that I would need to have initial impression to make customized trays then return 2 weeks later to go through how to use the gel and trays.

I’d had upper and lower teeth impression for a crown 5/6years ago so knew that the impression would only take a minute – I returned 2weeks later where Mrs Ram showed me how to apply the bleaching gel into the trays, how to insert and remove the trays, wash the trays after use and store them in plastic box provided. I was told to wear both upper and lower trays for 1 hour per day and left the surgey with the trays in my mouth.

The trays felt comfortable, I could speak clearly and as they are clear in colour, no one knew I had them in – the hour went by very quickly.

After the 4th day of bleaching a few areas felt sensitive, so as instructed I applied the gel in the areas that were not sensitive. I applied a small amount of sensitive toothpaste where the sensitivity had occurred and this cleared after a day or two.

A few people in the playground said I ‘looked really well’ and I felt I could see a difference after only 3 or 4 days.

I returned to the surgery 2 weeks later where everything was double checked – the shade guide showed that I was at least 2-3shades lighter, which I felt was excellent.

Every time I look in the mirror I am reminded of how much I enjoy having my lighter smile – I’m really happy with the result.’

Mrs A.B. Age 44

I felt that my teeth looked messy and yellow so I made a bleaching consultation with Mrs Ram who went through the procedure. I made the decision to go ahead with take home bleaching treatment shortly after and was looking forward to having the bleaching done.

After a few days I experienced sensitivity in one or two areas, Mrs Ram said not to apply the gel in the areas of sensitivity for a day and I used ‘Sensodyne’ toothpaste in the bleaching trays which worked well. I had mild discomfort throughout, however, nothing to put me off having it done again in future.

I noticed a difference in the colour of my treated teeth, however no one else did. At my next check up appointment I will have a chat regarding using the bleaching gel again to help maintain the brightness of my teeth.

When it comes to signs of ageing, your teeth are right up there with wrinkled skin, for the most prominent signs of ageing.

Over the years my teeth had become discoloured. After a consultation with Mrs Ram, I decided to have my teeth whitened.

I now have a whiter and fresher look to my teeth and skin, I should have done it years ago

Mrs A.H. Age 65. Stone

After years of tea drinking my teeth were looking discoloured and I’d heard about teeth whitening and approached Regency House Dental. The process was explained to me during a consultation and the existing colour of my teeth was compared on a chart and I was shown a realistic expectation as to the whiteness that could be achieved.

The actual treatment took about an hour and was rather uncomfortable at times. There was plenty of pauses in the application and the team continually asked how I was doing and checked my comfort. The treatment was not painful rather more uncomfortable.

I had my appointment in the morning and by late afternoon my teeth ached and I needed to use the cooling gel and tooth paracetomol. The sensitivity was extreme at this point but by the following morning all discomfort was gone. Home bleaching was to be continued over the next few days and the sensitivity came back but the cooling gel made it bearable.

Nearly 18months on now and my teeth are still looking bright and white. I now use sensitive toothpaste regularly and get very little problem. Overall it improved by smile and if I think back, the worst part was not being able to have a cup of tea for the first 48 hours after treatment.’
